Michelle Yeoh is best known for her roles in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies, and the multiple Academy Award-winning Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, (for which she was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Actress). She also played the iconic Burmese politician and Nobel laureate, Aung San Suu Kyi, in Luc Besson’s The Lady.
Michelle supports worthy causes and was awarded the UN’s Humanitarian of the Year Award in 2016. She was also recently made a Commander of the Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur for her contributions to culture and the movie industry, the highest non-citizen award in France.
Michelle is a great fan of Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, where she can often be found relaxing over tea in the Clipper Lounge. She also has “a very special place in her heart” for Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, where she is “always made to feel at home” by the staff.
Michelle’s charity of choice is the Hong Kong Cancer Fund.
