On 12 August, beneath Mallorca’s radiant summer sky, Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca invites guests to witness a rare celestial moment as an eclipse gently transforms the island’s horizon. Between sea, cliffs and open Mediterranean light, the day unfolds — from sunset rituals and refined gastronomy to thoughtfully composed moments designed to slow time and heighten perception.

 

To honour the occasion, a curated selection of experiences will be available, from private helicopter experiences, bespoke yacht journeys, to hot air balloon flights above the island’s landscape, a fleeting alignment of light and place to be experienced in its fullest presence at the resort.

The Balloon Experience

Above Mallorca’s landscape, a limited group of just 15 guests will take to the sky in a hot air balloon experience created for this rare celestial moment. As the island unfolds below, the eclipse traces its path across sea, mountains and horizon, offering a perspective few will ever witness.

 

Each guest will be provided with specially designed viewing lenses to experience the eclipse in full detail as light shifts across the sky. A shared ascent above the island, where altitude, distance and horizon converge into a singular moment above Mallorca.
