Nelson Piquet Jr: Racing driver

I'm a fan of...

I’m an avid collector of racing helmets from other drivers. I have helmets that I treasure from drivers including my father (the three-time F1 Champion Nelson Piquet), Alain Prost, Fernando Alonso, Jean Alesi, Rubens Barrichello and Emerson Fittipaldi.

Drive to Survive

This is the fairly new Formula 1 documentary series on Netflix and it’s brilliant. There’s never been so much insight and inside access to the sport for fans to see and it’s compulsive viewing.

I started skydiving a few years ago and already have my license to jump solo. I guess as a racing driver I love adrenaline and skydiving is an incredible rush. I do a lot of skydives over stunning uninhabited beaches in the North of Brazil, such as Lençóis Maranhenses and it is an experience of pure peace.

Brickell Key, Miami

I love to hang out in Miami when I have down time. I walk around the Wynwood art district or take a speedboat out for the day. The infinity pool at Mandarin Oriental, Miami overlooks the water in Brickell Key and is the ultimate spot for relaxation.

I’ve always loved animals and since I’ve been racing electric cars, I’ve learned a lot about sustainability. My passion has led me to be an ambassador for WWF.

The Cove

This documentary has been out for ten years now, but I think it’s still such an important watch. It looks at dolphin hunting practices in Japan and it deeply affected me.

The first really nice watch I had was a Rolex Daytona. It was a gift from my mother for my 18th birthday. Rolex has always been synonymous with racing. Likewise, Bremont is intrinsically linked to aviation. My father and uncle both fly so I feel a lot of synergy to the brand and love their watches.

Tommy Hilfiger Suits

Tommy is my preferred brand if I’m getting dressed up for a smart occasion. I love the fit and quality and have a nice selection of their suits.
