Pastry Chef Julien Dugourd

Julien Dugourd from the Vosges in eastern France has built his stellar career learning from some of the most renowned names in gastronomy, such as Marc Veyrat, Alain Ducasse and Christophe Michalak. In 2023, he opened his first boutique in Nice, on the French Riviera. Julien has overseen multiple prestigious collaborations such as Dior Parfums with a dessert inspired by their Vanilla Diorama fragrance and with luxury watch brand Bell & Ross.

 

Chef Julien Dugourd is partnering with Mandarin Oriental, Paris to offer his new collection of desserts that can be enjoyed at Camélia restaurant, in rooms or to take away.

Yule Log

This festive season, Mandarin Oriental, Paris unveils La Bûche Couture - a creation where haute pâtisserie meets haute couture. Inspired by the hotel’s artistic spirit, this sculptural dessert evokes the grace of a couture gown, presented as a numbered work of art. Encased in an elegant case, La Bûche Couture embodies the refinement, creativity, and timeless Parisian elegance that define Mandarin Oriental, Paris.

 

La Bûche Couture, serving 6 to 8 people, will be available from 21 to 26 December 2025 at the Cake Shop. It will be sold at EUR 140 per piece, with orders required 72 hours in advance, starting from 1 December 2025. An individual version will also be available at EUR 20 per piece from 12 to 31 December 2025.

King's Cake

For Epiphany, Mandarin Oriental, Paris honours the spirit of family with a King Cake by Pastry Chef Julien Dugourd. Infused with honey from the hotel’s own roof beehives, this creation blends tradition with refinement, offering soft floral notes. Its honeycomb design, echoing both the Palace’s entrance gates and the structure of a beehive, is a poetic tribute to the ingredient that inspires it.

 

The King Cake, serving 6 to 8 people, will be available from 3 to 31 January 2026, at the Cake Shop of Mandarin Oriental, Paris. It will be priced at EUR 69 per piece and available by pre-order with 48 hours’ notice. An individual version will also be offered at EUR 12 per piece.

Pastry Chef Julien Dugourd celebrates indulgence with a Winter Afternoon Tea in partnership with Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, served in the intimate setting at Camélia restaurant.

 

This seasonal experience includes a hot beverage of your choice along with an exclusive selection of festive delights inspired by the fragrances: Eau de magnolia: lemon, bergamot, grapefruit, Portrait of lady: Rose, Cologne Bigarade: orange blossom, Music for a while: pineapple, vanilla, Musc Ravageur: bergamot, mandarin.

 

The Afternoon Tea will be available at Camélia restaurant from 1 to 31 December 2025, priced at EUR 70 per person.
