Commencing 1 December 2021, Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok welcomes world-acclaimed Chef Alain Roux from The Waterside Inn as our Chef Patron. The Waterside Inn has retained three Michelin Stars for 38 years, the only restaurant outside of France to achieve this extraordinary culinary recognition. The restaurant is named Le Normandie by Alain Roux and will continue delighting diners with exceptional French haute cuisine.
This partnership between The Waterside Inn and Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok is something Chef Alain Roux’s late father, Michel Roux O.B.E. and Chef Alain Roux aspired to complete together. It was a shared dream and discussed often across the 20 years that Michel Roux worked at Le Normandie. Both restaurants share a common passion for working with only the finest and freshest ingredients, for offering genuine warm hospitality in two spectacular locations, with service delivered in the most sophisticated ambience from outstanding long serving colleagues.
This exclusive partnership allows Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok to bring classic French cuisine, created by The Roux family, to sophisticated Thai diners in Bangkok and those visiting our wonderful city. To ensure a sophisticated and comfortable atmosphere, ladies, gentlemen and children over seven years of age are asked to wear elegant attire and footwear. A jacket is compulsory for men during dinner and may be provided upon request.
