The Heritage of the Rari Women

Celebrating local culture and identity, Mandarin Oriental, Santiago is partnering with the Artesanías de Chile foundation to present "Microbastry in crin: heritage of the women of Rari". This exhibition showcases the unique horsehair weaving craft of Rari, a rural village located in the Commune of Colbún in the south of Chile.

The exhibition will encompass three themes: human forms, nature and mythology. These are common sources of inspiration for weavers who craft pieces based on popular cultural characters, in addition to flora, fauna and characters from popular beliefs. The showing will be on display in the hotel lobby from March 15 to April 20, 2024.
