Sheer: The diaphanous creations of Yves Saint-Laurent exhibition

The exhibition Sheer: The diaphanous creations of Yves Saint Laurent will open at the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris on February 9 and run until August 25, 2024. It marks the second chapter of a story that began last summer at Calais’ Museum of Lace and Fashion. The Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris has invited the curator Anne Dressen to be its artistic advisor and she has chosen to focus on transparency, one of Yves Saint Laurent’s artistic expressions. The exhibition has been designed by Pauline Marchetti, an architect whose work explores the intersection of perception and space.

La Galerie Dior's new exhibition

La Galerie Dior opened its doors in March 2022 in the heart of 30 Montaigne and is testament to the visionary boldness of Christian Dior and his six successors. It stands apart as a symbol of the Parisian haute couture spirit while preserving the House's history by exhibiting original designs, sketches and exceptional pieces. Running until 13 May 2024, a new visual narrative illuminates the close relationship between Dior and women. Unique creations by several key women personalities who have collaborated with Maria Grazia Chiuri, Creative Director for Dior Women, celebrate the heritage of the founding designer and his House.

A Legendary Designer, a Sculptor of Style

In addition to these in-depth looks at two of the greatest ever names from world of fashion, two more unmissable and dazzling exhibitions celebrate two legendary fashion figures and a visionary Dutch fashion designer who continues to innovate like few others.

ALAÏA/GRÈS. AU-DELÀ DE LA MODE

The Alaïa Foundation pays tribute to two major fashion figures, Madame Grès and Azzedine Alaïa, who share a passion for sculptural forms and the structural elegance of clothing. The exhibition, located in the 4th district, highlights the talent of these creators, renowned for their asymmetric and draped antique-style dresses worn by icons such as Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, and Grace Kelly.

Madame Grès, also known as Germaine Krebs, is an emblematic figure of Parisian haute couture, while Azzedine Alaïa was her spiritual heir, sharing her vision of clothing as a form of sculptural art, where working with fabric is akin to sculpting stone.

This exhibition is open until May 20, 2024.

Iris Van Herpen: Sculpting the Sense

An exhibition at the Museum of Decorative Arts running until 28 April, “Sculpting the Senses” celebrates Iris Van Herpen, one of the most visionary fashion designers of her generation, A pioneer in the use of new technologies, she transgresses conventional clothing norms. The exhibition questions the place of the body in space, its relationship to clothing, its environment and its future in a rapidly changing world. More than 100 of her haute couture pieces interact with contemporary works of art, design creations and elements from nature such as corals or fossils to create unique resonance with history.
