This Ramadan, Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai honours the heritage of Old Jumeirah through a bespoke collaboration with Shayma Al Mughairy, a pioneering Emirati artist known as the Queen of Sand.

For over a century, the golden sands of Jumeirah have quietly witnessed the lives of its people, preserving the memories of generations.

During Ramadan, these sands became a gathering place for families and friends, coming together in majlises to share wisdom, pass down tales, and celebrate the unity that defines the spirit of the holy month.

This year, the resort has partnered with Emirati artist Shayma Al Mughairy, who crafted a masterpiece using the unique symbol of sand — an element that binds both the culture and landscape of the UAE. Sand, ever-changing yet eternal, reflects the spirit of Ramadan: a time to reshape our actions and connections with one another. Titled ‘Gift of Time’, this evocative installation brings to life the Ramadan traditions of Jumeirah, recalling a time when the area was a simple seaside borough.

This humble tribute from Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai, pays homage to the neighbourhood that hosts the resort, recognising its rich history, the support of the community, and the enduring spirit of its people.

This one-of-a-kind display will grace The Majlis throughout the Holy Month. Guests can indulge in exquisite creations while enjoying stories of the past, making the experience an exceptional blend of art, cuisine, and culture.

Iftar | 6pm to 8pm

As the sun sets, guests are welcomed with bespoke intention cards inspired by the values of Ramadan, offering a quiet moment of reflection before breaking the fast.

Iftar begins with refreshing Milk Sharbat, followed by Chef Zouhair’s soup and a curated selection of starters for sharing. For the main course, enjoy Chaman’s Grill, featuring Lamb Chops and Yellow Farm Chicken served with Orzo and complemented by seasonal sides. The evening concludes with Café Gourmand, an assortment of mini desserts created for sharing.

Suhoor | 9pm to 11pm

Later in the evening, Casa Amor transitions into Suhoor as the beach settles into the night.

Enjoy a dedicated shisha offering alongside a curated Suhoor platter designed for sharing, featuring Wagyu Bresaola, Pan Amor, Beef Tacos and Shiso Tuna. Café Gourmand follows with five bite-sized desserts, served with tea or juice, offering an unhurried moment to unwind before dawn.

At Netsu, Kabuki-inspired design and the Theatre of Fire set the stage for a Ramadan iftar shaped by Japanese technique and shared dining.

The experience opens with light starters and refined bites, followed by carefully prepared Sashimi and Maki rolls that express balance and precision. At the heart of the menu, flame-led cooking takes focus, with premium cuts from the Warayaki grill paired with delicately cooked seafood.

The meal draws to a gentle finish with a matcha-led dessert and seasonal fruit, offering a quiet moment of balance to the evening.
