Spectacular locations

Owners of The Residences can immerse themselves in the location and cultural kudos of their chosen city, from the hubs of London and New York to sunsoaked Bodrum on the Turkish Riviera. Mandarin Oriental’s latest foray into standalone Residences unveils three new locations, all slated to open in 2022. The first is Mandarin Oriental Residences, Barcelona, a collection of 34 Residences that offers views of the Mediterranean and Gaudí’s iconic Sagrada Familía, on the doorstep of world-class shopping experiences via Avenida Diagonal and Passeig de Gracia. In the US, Mandarin Oriental Residences, Beverly Hills will be home to 54 Residences at 9200 Wilshire Boulevard, nestled in the verdant environs of Beverly Hills in Los Angeles, and the West Coast companion to Mandarin Oriental Residences, Fifth Avenue in New York. While these three new locations are self-contained, owners will still have access to the amenities and services that the group is known for.

Mandarin Oriental is also set to complete yet more Residences that are true to its roots. The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Boca Raton has 88, brand new Residences housed in a tower connected to the hotel by an elevated sky bridge. “The homeowners here get to enjoy their own exclusive amenities, including a golf simulator, screening rooms, an elegant, serviced lounge, working areas and private club,” says Adelina Wong Ettelson, Global Head of Residences Marketing. Residence owners also have access to the hotel’s covetable rooftop restaurant, pool, spa, club lounge and cake shop. “What we bring to all Residences is the legendary service and luxury of our award-winning hotels, a truly unmatched offering to anything else on the market,” adds Wong Ettelson.

Premium perks, special culinary and wellness experiences

With 18 Residences in the development pipeline, including The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Grand Cayman, The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Tel Aviv, and The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Honolulu, residents of the Group’s ever-expanding portfolio can enjoy the abundance of premium perks, culinary and wellness experiences. At Mandarin Oriental Residences, Barcelona, residents can indulge in seasonal Mediterranean fare at two-Michelin-starred restaurant, Moments. At The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Mayfair, another location set to debut in autumn 2022, owners can savour the hotel’s urban spa and relax while overlooking leafy Hanover Square from the comfort of their homes.

Across the Atlantic, Mandarin Oriental Residences, Fifth Avenue is set to open in the heart of Manhattan with views of Central Park. Facilities include a library and lounge with dazzling views from the top floor, Fifth Avenue’s only private owners’ rooftop pool with cabanas and a residents-only Michelin-starred restaurant, Boulud Privé, overseen by celebrity chef Daniel Boulud. Boulud’s culinary excellence will also be on hand at Mandarin Oriental Residences, Beverly Hills, where homes will include a rooftop pool, cabanas, lounge, library, wellness and beauty centre and a coworking space.

Versatile spaces

“Ever since the pandemic, people have been rethinking how they work and live, therefore we have seen an increased desire for coworking spaces and Zoom rooms with nuanced lighting settings and panels depicting a variety of backgrounds,” explains Wong Ettelson. “A requirement for versatile spaces adaptable to multiple activities is another post-pandemic must-have. For example, in our Knightsbridge property, we have rooms used for a variety of purposes, whether that be kids’ violin lessons or at-home gyms.

“We’ve also observed a trend for being close to nature. At Mandarin Oriental Residences, Barcelona, for example, Residence owners are enticed to a secluded rooftop garden scented with orange trees and adorned with handcrafted, emerald-green ceramic paving evocative of Gaudí’s Parc Güell.”

Signature service

Aside from the standout facilities, The Residences’ Directors and their colleagues are known for their initiative and thoughtfulness, taking the concept of service to new heights. Their agile responses to unforeseen situations have seen them often act swiftly and resourcefully.

“A resident of ours, who lives primarily in London, suffered water damage in their apartment, which they could not attend to personally,” recalls one Director of Residences. “My team of engineers, house attendants and housekeepers immediately jumped in to take photos of their closets and personal items – to make a record of where everything was kept – then deep-cleaned their home and clothing. Every garment was later returned to its original place. I took care of the insurance claims and hired a contractor to complete the necessary work in the property. The owner was surprised and delighted by how efficiently everything was taken care of in their absence.”

“High-net-worth individuals want to know they’re getting the best service at all times,” concludes Wong Ettelson. “Sometimes this involves overcoming crises so efficiently and discreetly that homeowners may never know these have ever occurred.”
