Historical and cultural centre of Tokyo - "Nihonbashi"
Superbly located in the heart of historical and cultural centre of Tokyo, Nihonbashi, formerly known as Edo. Just a stone’s throw from Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo is the celebrated ‘Bridge of Japan’ from which Nihonbashi derives its name. At one time, this was the traditional ‘Kilometer Zero’ officially designating one’s arrival in the capital. Japan’s major financial, insurance and securities firms grew around this landmark, along with many traditional shops, shrines and galleries.
Delightful dining options
Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo’s twelve inimitable restaurants and bars, including a Michelin-starred restaurant, have enough versatility to suit any mood or occasion. Ten of the twelve establishments are located on the uppermost two floors of the 38-storey Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower, offering guests stunning views of the city and beyond, including TOKYO SKYTREE to the east, and the Mount Fuji to the west.
Spa in the sky
Located on the 37th and 38th floors of the Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower, the Spa is primely positioned, with its suites offering magnificent views and unforgettable Heat and Water experiences. In nine serene rooms, including four suites and one Spa Studio, guests are guided through a personalised journey of Asian and western-inspired relaxation, beauty, and wellness components conceived to instill inner peace and physical rejuvenation that will bring about a clear feeling of well-being.
Design Concept - "Woods and Water"
Within a country surrounded by water, Japan’s mountains give birth to clouds that nourish its soil with abundant rainfall and feed the many rivers that flow from the mountains to the coastlines. Therefore, ‘Woods and Water’ became inspirational themes and formed the underlying design concept of Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo. The hotel has been conceived as a single large living tree, providing shelter, comfort and a gathering place for the community. These themes are expressed using imaginative, custom fabrics and furnishings throughout the hotel.
Magnifiscent view of Tokyo
All guests are afforded spectacular, sweeping views from Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo. East-facing rooms look out over the Sumida River, Tokyo Bay, Odaiba and TOKYO SKYTREE, the world’s highest free-standing broadcasting tower, while those facing west permit views of Ginza, Tokyo Station and the towering skyscrapers of Shinjuku. On clear days, the majestic, snow-capped Mount Fuji can be seen in the distance.
